Senior Services
- Area Agency on Aging (VCAAA)
The VCAAA is always working to better the lives of seniors in Ventura County. We are involved in the community through collaborations and programs and are always looking to advocate on senior issues. - Senior Information and Assistance
The Information and Assistance Program is provided under the guidelines of Title III B of the Older American’s Act and is designed to link persons aged 60 and above (and their families and caregivers), who are in need of assistance to the appropriate programs and services in their communities that can help solve the problems faced by older adults. This is considered the entry point/introduction to the services system network. - Senior Nutrition
The Senior Nutrition Program services provide a vital link in maintaining the health and independence of older adults in Ventura County by preventing premature institutionalization and improving overall quality of life. - Case Management
Case Management programs arrange for, and monitor the use of, community services to help the frail elderly, and/or disabled to avoid or delay institutional placement while fostering independent living. These services are offered by public, nonprofit, and for-profit agencies. See service provider listing for more information. - Health Insurance Counseling & Advocacy
The purpose of the Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program (HICAP) is to provide free counseling and community education on Medicare, Medicare Part D, managed care, and other health insurance issues. - Family Caregiver Programs
Our Family Caregiver specialist is here to help you connect with programs and information such as caregiver respite, services for chronically ill or impaired seniors, health services, housing, in-home services, health insurance counseling, intergenerational activities, nutrition and transportation. - In-Home Support
The Human Services Agency helps low-income seniors and people with disabilities (including children) stay in their own homes instead of moving to residential care facilities. - Cash Assistance and Other Services
The County of Ventura Human Services Agency provides a broad array of services that include the protection of children and vulnerable adults and support for those needing assistance with food, housing, health care and employment. - Ventura County Employees’ Retirement Assoc (VCERA)
